• $150,000 We are a full-service consulting engineering firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and building systems design for a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, educational, residential, and industrial projects across New York and New Jersey.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who can independently manage complex mechanical design efforts from concept through construction support while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders. Our firm provides comprehensive engineering services including planning, design, cost estimating, construction administration, and field inspections for both new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for a driven, technically strong professional who can take ownership of mechanical system design and help elevate project delivery standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of complete mechanical (HVAC) systems including calculations, sizing, layouts, reports, specifications, and construction documents Develop conceptual designs and advance them into fully coordinated engineering solutions Perform site investigations, condition assessments, and field surveys Coordinate and collaborate with architects, structural/civil/MEP disciplines, contractors, and clients Attend client meetings, design reviews, and construction progress meetings Provide engineering support and oversight during construction administration Ensure all designs comply with applicable NY and NJ building codes and standards Deliver high-quality documentation suitable for permitting and construction execution Qualifications Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master"s preferred) 5+ years of experience with PE license, OR 10+ years of progressive mechanical/HVAC design experience (PE not required) Strong background in HVAC and building systems design (consulting engineering environment required; manufacturing/product design experience not applicable) Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of NY and NJ Building Codes and standards PE license and/or LEED AP certification strongly preferred Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently Must have valid and approved U.S. work authorization Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master"s preferred) 5+ years of HVAC/building systems design experience with PE license, OR 10+ years of progressive design experience without PE Strong proficiency in HVAC design, AutoCAD, and working knowledge of Revit and NY/NJ Building Codes PE license and/or LEED AP preferred; must have valid U.S. work authorization By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, Al-generated calls, text messages, or emails from Synerfac Technical Staffing and our contracted partners.
