Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Generalist with strong FEA experience to support our Technical Design Group. This team, consisting of approximately 7 engineers, focuses on developing and substantiating advanced aerospace components. The role involves supporting a high volume of active development programs and contributing to multiple concurrent projects, including sensor systems, rotating hardware, and test article design. The ideal candidate is a versatile engineer who can contribute across the full product development lifecycle. Responsibilities Support mechanical design and structural analysis for sensors and rotating components. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS or similar tools. Execute design trade studies including materials, geometry, and mounting strategies. Conduct stress, fatigue, and dynamic analyses, including modal assessments. Support test article design and correlate test data with analytical models. Contribute to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) development activities. Support multiple concurrent projects and delegated design tasks. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams. Participate in design reviews and technical meetings. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Strong mechanical design fundamentals. Experience with FEA tools, preferably ANSYS. Experience correlating analysis with testing. Experience supporting technology development programs. Material selection and evaluation experience, preferably with metals. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Additional Skills & Qualifications CAD experience. Experience with rotating equipment or systems. Sensor or instrumentation design experience. Aerospace or regulated environment experience. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, involving cross-functional teamwork within a technical design group. Engineers are expected to manage multiple assignments concurrently and participate in design reviews and technical meetings. The role requires a U.S. Person due to the nature of the projects involved. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwich, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $84.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
