  • Full-time Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to research, plan, design, and analyze advanced satellite communication products.
In this role, you will determine the feasibility of new designs by analyzing customer requirements and specifications, then move rapidly into creating sketches, 3D models, and prototypes. This candidate will have a strong working knowledge of electromechanical packaging, specifically focusing on design for heat transfer, shock, vibration, and harsh environmental conditions. You will have the opportunity to plan and supervise critical environmental and transport testing (typically
MIL-STD-810G
) to prove your designs and establish certifications for real-world deployment. — Key Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned) Lead the research, planning, and design of mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. Analyze customer design requirements and technical specifications to determine the feasibility of new applications. Develop 3D models, sketches, and prototypes of proposed packaging schemes for design approval. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for both structural and thermal performance. Supervise the creation of prototype parts and transport packaging. Coordinate and supervise in-house and external lab testing for environmental verification and validation (MIL-STD-810G). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing (DFM). Interpret technical procedures, government regulations, and military specifications to ensure compliance.

Experience with 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Foundational understanding of shock and vibration testing per
MIL-STD-810G
specifications. Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform structural and kinematic analysis. Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and internal presentations. Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). — Preferred Qualifications Experience with ruggedized product design or satellite communication terminal architectures. Familiarity with thermal management solutions for high-power electronics. Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or "ground floor" startup environment. —
Compensation & Work Environment Salary Range:
Plus an annual bonus in addition to salary.
NY State Income Tax Exemption:

Work Environment:
Typical electronic assembly and design environment with occasional exposure to dust, heat, and equipment noise. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision requirements include depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for detailed design work.
