Job Description
Description Permanent position for a Mechanical Engineer for a lighting manufacturing company. Design and develop the mechanical architecture of lighting fixtures, taking products from prototype through full production release. Build and revise 3D models and detailed drawings in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and generate methods of manufacture and bills of materials in the ERP system. Run structural and thermal simulations to validate integrity and optimize performance. Author and execute test plans verifying mechanical, optical, and electrical components against spec and quality standards. Partner with manufacturing to drive a clean design-to-production handoff, owning drawings, documentation, and resolution of production issues. Drive design, performance, and manufacturability improvements across the full product life cycle. Requirements BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in lighting, fixture design, or a related technical field. Strong proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and AutoCAD for drafting. Working knowledge of lighting fundamentals, including thermal management, optics, and applicable standards (i.e. UL standards). Hands-on experience across the full product development cycle, from concept through production, including prototyping and validation testing. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation test methods. Strong communications skills, especially writing. Experience with architectural or specification-grade lighting products a plus. #ERGx
