Requisition Summary
PERFORMS LIAISON ACTIVITIES BETWEEN ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING, UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION.
Job Functions / Responsibilities Coordinates with manufacturing, materials, and production departments to provide timely assistance, drive engineering issues to resolution, and to feedback appropriate information to engineering personnel. Provides on-the-spot engineering advice for specific design, installation, or production issues encountered in manufacturing. Document and communicate all changes that are made to the original chassis image; ensures that the final chassis image reflects the correct parts usage. Completes feedback to local resident engineering staff as well as Division Engineering for design errors. Undertakes special assignments or studies requested by the Liaison Supervisor, Engineering Manager, or Division Engineering. These duties may include, but are not limited to: Provide assistance to Materials, Tooling and Production on product change implementations including prototypes, coordination and notification. Work with Production to improve ease of installation, improve installation knowledge and improve production and customer quality. Work with Vendors, Materials, Production, and Quality departments to approve or deny deviations to drawings. Contacts dealers, through Application Technician, on chassis related items. Assist the Release Department with general information as needed for the release process. Coordinate with local Design Group in the design of new parts or the rework of existing parts. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsNECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in engineering preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to relate technical information to all levels.
- Must be proficient in windows operating system and Microsoft office suite.
- Must meet physical requirements of the position with or without accommodation.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with shop practices and knowledge of product and component design capability gained through demonstrated
- Experience in multiple departments with special emphasis on truck systems.
- Test department experience a plus.
- Proficient in electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting.
- CMS80/Reflections/Rhumba/3270 experience preferred
- CAD/Pro/E or comparable experience
- CAN Bus Communication Troubleshooting utilizing CANalyzer.
