Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer Direct Hire | Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite Locations (can be based out of one of these cities) Cincinnati, OH Lexington, KY Minnetonka, MN St. Paul, MN Job Summary An established engineering consulting firm is in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their mechanical team. This position, based onsite, concentrates on the design, planning, and execution of large-scale utility generation and distribution projects for various industries. The ideal candidate will take on a leadership role, providing technical guidance, managing projects, and working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Primary Responsibilities Develop engineering documents, calculations, and equipment specifications in compliance with project requirements and codes. Conduct mechanical engineering calculations and technical analyses. Approve utility system and equipment selections and drawing submissions. Lead procurement activities for utility and energy projects. Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resources. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and subconsultants. Assist in mentoring junior engineers and technical staff. Support other engineering disciplines as needed. Create campus utility master plans and technical reports. Participate in industry events and organizations. Assist with project cost estimating and planning. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) registration or willingness to obtain licensure. 10+ years of engineering experience. Expertise in utility generation and distribution system design. Strong project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Experience with infrastructure projects or plant operations. Working Environment Field work may be required occasionally. May involve navigating uneven terrain and lifting equipment.
