Job Description Insight Global is seeking a fully remote Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a long term opportunity based out of the Cincinnati, OH area. This company is a leader in the Design field and has been named a Top 100 workplace for 5 years in a row. On the day to day the Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and development of building mechanical systems with a primary focus on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical utility systems across all phases of a project lifecycle. This individual will work closely with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop design concepts, perform engineering calculations, prepare specifications, and produce construction documents in Revit MEP. Responsibilities include coordinating project schedules and budgets, conducting site investigations, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards, and supporting quality assurance efforts. The engineer will also provide construction administration support through submittal reviews, RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and site observations while serving as a technical resource for both clients and internal project teams. Additionally, this role will mentor junior engineers and designers, contribute to value engineering initiatives, and help maintain high-quality mechanical design standards throughout the organization. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline Active Professional Engineer (PE) License 7-12 years of mechanical engineering experience focused on building systems within an A/E consulting environment Extensive HVAC design experience including heating, cooling, mechanical utilities, and plumbing systems for commercial/institutional buildings Proficiency with Revit MEP for design and construction documentation Experience producing mechanical and plumbing construction documents from concept through construction administration Strong knowledge of building codes, HVAC controls, fire protection systems, piping systems, and multidisciplinary coordination with architectural, civil, structural, and electrical teams Plusses Experience supporting Federal Government projects (DoD, Department of Justice, USACE, etc.) LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification and experience designing systems to meet LEED requirements Experience with HVAC load/calculation software such as Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE 700, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation Experience supporting Federal Government projects (DoD, Department of Justice, USACE, etc.) LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification and experience designing systems to meet LEED requirements Experience with HVAC load/calculation software such as Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE 700, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation
