Mechanical Engineer Setting/Hours:
100% In-Office | M-F Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Cincinnati, Ohio that's expanding its Manufacturing team.Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates activities of engineering department to design, manufacture, and test components, products and systems. Performs other assignments as required.MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required with at least 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment. Experience working with technical drawings, engineering calculations, and mechanical design concepts. Background supporting or leading capital expenditure (CapEx) projects within manufacturing or industrial settings. Proficiency with CAD software and experience creating or modifying engineering designs and layouts. Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to support manufacturing operations through engineering expertise.Primary duties and responsibilities:
Leads and manages engineering and maintenance activities with a high level of independence and accountability. Maintains engineering and maintenance records while preparing reports related to departmental operations and performance. Reviews and analyzes technical documentation, engineering data, specifications, manuals, and industry reference materials to support operational improvements. Assists in developing and updating procedures, manuals, specifications, and maintenance standards to support organizational needs. Researches and implements new equipment, technologies, and maintenance methods to improve plant operations and efficiency. Establishes engineering and maintenance standards related to safety, quality control, testing, equipment installation, and environmental compliance. Prepares bid packages, contracts, purchase requests, and documentation related to construction and facility projects. Reviews technical drawings, construction plans, engineering sketches, and specifications for plant projects and equipment installations. Plans, directs, and oversees engineering operations for the primary facility while supporting additional locations as needed. Coordinates equipment maintenance schedules, new system designs, and engineering project requirements. Oversees installation, testing, and validation of new machinery and equipment to ensure operational and contractual compliance. Supports new product and equipment design, process improvements, and development of testing procedures. Assists with departmental budgeting, cost forecasting, and capital expenditure planning. Leads capital projects including project management, drawing approvals, contractor coordination, scheduling, and on-site supervision. Uses CAD software to develop and review detailed construction and equipment drawings. Estimates project and equipment costs while managing maintenance and spare parts inventory needs. Develops systems and processes to monitor maintenance expenses and project costs. Oversees development and execution of preventive maintenance programs to support operational reliability. Maintains safe working conditions and supports compliance with engineering and safety regulations. Collaborates cross-functionally with accounting, purchasing, production, quality assurance, sales, contractors, and vendors to support engineering and maintenance initiatives. Strong communication skills required, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and external partners.
