Job description Sutphen Towers, Inc. is a family owned and operated emergency fire apparatus manufacturer located in Hilliard, Ohio. We are expanding our workforce and are looking for a Project Engineer to join our amazing team. In this position, you will coordinate and plan construction projects of fire fighting vehicles from design to building completion. Why Join Team Sutphen? Job Purpose:
Responsible for the mechanical design and development of fire truck appparatus.
Essential Functions:
Provide mechanical design, analysis, and support to manufacturing. Work with engineering department on major operations improvement initiative. Coordinate and support the mechanical portion of manufacturing projects. Design models and diagrams using SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. Modify drawings as necessary. Prepare and interpret design sketches, layouts, blueprints, schematics, and other visual aids. Prepare engineering analysis (FEA) of projects to include preliminary evaluation of existing designs, and cost. Participate in design reviews when requested by Engineering Manager. Document and design reviews and meetings held with co-workers, customers and/or suppliers. Review drawings prior to the project being released to the customer & production. Coordinate the activities of design with engineering team.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical enfineering. Two years related engineering or techial experience. Ability to use SolidWorks, Auto
CAD, FEA
Software, Microsoft Excel Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Prioritize and solve practical problems and handle a variety of situations.
Work Environment:
This position is generally performed in an office environment but does require visits to the production floor from time to time.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
