Test Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics

Summary:

This role will support engineering test and development activities for vehicle dynamics testing.

Responsibilities:

Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences, and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards. Depending on functional area, must perform objective and subjective testing by driving. Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results. Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting. Support vehicle tuning and instrument vehicles for objective tests. Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction. Negotiate with other departments internally and suppliers externally to meet the spec requirements. Coordinate with design and CAE teams to report results and develop countermeasures. Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology. Travel to client / test sites required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3+ years relevant industry experience. Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing. Minimum 2yrs experience as a Test Engineer instrumenting vehicles and using Data Acquisition tools. Test track / driving experience required for test driving. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS office.
