Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative R&D Engineer to join our forward-thinking research and development team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of new materials and products, leveraging your expertise in materials science, engineering research, and manufacturing processes. Your energetic approach will contribute to pioneering solutions that enhance product performance and quality across various industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate across functions, utilize advanced CAD tools, and apply your knowledge of polymers, plastics molding, and process engineering to shape the future of material innovations. Duties Lead research initiatives focused on material selection, characterization, and testing to develop cutting-edge products. Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software for 3D modeling and product design development. Conduct comprehensive materials analysis using laboratory techniques and analytical chemistry methods to ensure quality and performance standards. Perform process engineering tasks including plastics injection molding and blow molding to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Analyze engineering data through statistical methods to support research findings and product improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and design engineering to align project goals with technical specifications. Develop project schedules, document research progress, and ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards for safety and reliability. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus. Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment with a focus on polymers or plastics. Strong knowledge of CAD tools including AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 3D modeling and product design. Hands-on laboratory experience with materials testing, materials analysis (including analytical chemistry), and materials characterization techniques. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, fabrication, and process engineering principles. Expertise in data collection, statistical analysis for research purposes, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering data analysis. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to materials engineering and product development. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate projects across different teams effectively. Mechanical knowledge combined with a strong foundation in materials science, plastics technology, and chemical processes. Pay:
$87,314.42 - $105,152.85 per year
