Direct Hire Mechanical Design Engineer•Must-Have Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline OR equivalent technical education with strong mechanical fundamentals Experience or coursework in mechanical design and engineering calculations Knowledge of pressure vessel design, heat exchangers, or industrial equipment Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings Understanding of ASME Code, TEMA standards, or similar industry standards Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to communicate effectively with fabrication teams and customers Mechanical Design Engineer•Position Summary The Mechanical Design Engineer supports the design and documentation of pressure equipment in a fabrication-driven job shop environment. This role is open to entry-level through senior-level engineers. Scope of responsibility, project ownership, and independence will align with experience and demonstrated capability. This position works closely with engineering, fabrication, and customers to ensure design accuracy and code compliance. Mechanical Design Engineer•Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform mechanical design calculations Develop dimensional sketches and detailed engineering drawings Design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related industrial equipment Apply ASME Code, TEMA standards, and customer specifications Issue drawings and calculation packages for fabrication and customer approval Communicate technical information with internal teams and customers Support engineering problem resolution related to fabrication and design intent Mentor junior engineers (for experienced candidates) Mechanical Design Engineer•Additional Qualifications Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to manage multiple engineering projects Knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and job shop operations Experience with CAD software and engineering documentation systems

Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted drafting equipment or software. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, or repair to ensure that machines or equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Design test control apparatus or equipment or develop procedures for testing products. Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Estimate costs or submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects. Recommend the use of utility or energy services that minimize carbon footprints. Evaluate mechanical designs or prototypes for energy performance or environmental impact. Direct the installation, operation, maintenance, or repair of renewable energy equipment, such as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or water systems.
