Job Description
R D Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, formulate, and execute R D scale melts. Make strong decisions- the process is completely run by the Engineer and one operator.
- from USW operators on the floor to engineers and other crossfunctional partners.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science, engineering, or related technical field and 1 year of R D experience. Internships will be considered. In lieu of a metallurgical degree, candidate should have at least 4 years experience in metallurgy/metals manufacturing.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of or experience working in a manufacturing plant environment. Knowledge of melting processes (PAM, EB, ESR, VAR, small arc button melting). Knowledge or experience in refractory metallurgy. Project Management Training or demonstrated skills. Basic mechanical aptitude. Python or other coding experience. Controls experience, especially PLC and real-time process controls. We thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
