« Back to all jobs Product Test Engineer Contract type Freelance Location Washington County , OR Specialty Retail Salary $43/hour Remote No Reference 515040 Contact name Cory Rivard Apply For This Job Job description Product Test Engineer 2 We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Test Engineer to support the development and evaluation of performance footwear products for a leading consumer products organization. This freelance, on-site role is ideal for a hands-on testing professional who is comfortable working independently, collaborating within a laboratory environment, and adapting to evolving project needs.

On-site, five days per week during typical business hours

Approximately 13 months from start date
Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a laboratory or product-testing environment What You'll Do Perform hands-on testing of basketball footwear products, materials, and components. Execute product and materials testing protocols while maintaining accurate, detailed documentation. Support test setup, sample preparation, data collection, and reporting activities. Partner closely with a small day-to-day testing team while contributing to a broader cross-functional group. Work independently with limited oversight, identifying priorities and progressing assignments proactively. Navigate changing requirements and ambiguous testing scenarios with sound judgment and flexibility. Communicate findings, observations, and test results clearly to team members and stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Product Development, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in a lab, quality, engineering, or product-testing environment. Hands-on experience testing products and/or materials. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal direction and manage responsibilities independently. Adaptable, collaborative approach in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with statistical analysis and interpretation of test data. Experience operating universal testing machines (UTMs), Instron equipment, or similar laboratory systems. AutoCAD experience. Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping.
