Erie, PA Job Description :
This position is a vital member of the Product Engineering team, which is responsible for the full lifecycle design efforts, from concept through production, owning CAD models, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and collaborating directly with application teams and end users. Due to an overwhelming demand in new product introductions, we are looking for candidates who desire a full time work schedule for a 4-to-6-month period, with potential for direct hire opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities :
Develop designs in accordance with the customer specifications. Design projects by adhering to the department's processes and methods. Complete DFMEA, Verification and Validation plans and reports. Support cross-functional teams with effective design plans for New Product Introductions (NPI) or extension of "in-service" components. Attends/leads customer meetings (business and engineering toll gates, etc.). Manage assigned projects with cross-functionals teams to meet timelines. Ensures high reliability and compliance with design/quality specifications by using mechanical creativity and engineering experience as well simulation based product development and design techniques.
Desired Skills :
Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously. 1-4 years of plastic part design for the automotive or vehicle industry desired. Knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes. An understanding of mechanical validation and design methods. Experience with GD&T, general mfg processes, tooling and Six Sigma. 3D Modeling Experience (NX preferred).
Qualifications/Requirements :
A B.S. in Engineering or other technical discipline with associated skills and project management experience.
