  • Mechanical Engineer Co-op | | | The primary responsibilities of this role are to: Design and test mechanical components and parts; Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing; Generate hardware test plans and protocols; Analyze test results and compose test reports; Troubleshoot problems during testing, assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules, and routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work.

This is a 12 month co-op position beginning in January OR May of 2027.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and test mechanical components and parts;
  • Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing;
  • Generate hardware test plans and protocols;
  • Analyze test results and compose test reports;
  • Troubleshoot problems during testing and assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules;
  • Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in an Mechanical Engineering degree program;
  • Completion of at least second year of a Bachelors degree;
  • Classwork in statics, dynamics, physics, and statistics;
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic;
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot;
  • Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CAD software, Matlab, Python;
  • Experience with finite element analysis Medical device classwork.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
