The project management team owns and leads the project every step of the way, guiding the project from concept, to construction, to customer hand-off. Successful field engineers have a bias for action, can break down complex problems into steps that drive results, and will support their team to execute projects flawlessly. As a field engineer, you can help lead JT THORPE's next major project.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Initial assignment will include partnership with a seasoned Project Manager and Superintendent to learn and understand the facets of project management at
JT THORPE
on a megaproject for a large pharmaceutical company in Lebanon, IN. Work diligently to learn JT THORPE's mission and strategies, as well as industry standards, applications, materials and equipment. Work on projects both locally and across the United States. Project duration varies, but typically ranges from 1 week to 6 months, with an estimated travel of 50
  • 75% in a given year.
Based in the one of JT THORPE's Regional Offices, you'll help plan and close out projects, lead continuous improvement sessions, and engage in professional development activities. Set you and your team up for success by working with other
JT THORPE
team members and the customer to create a detailed project plan. Support the execution of the project plan while balancing customer requirements and desires. This requires challenging all members of the construction team to identify issues, implement robust solutions, and achieve excellence. Clearly communicate plans and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences; from internal stakeholders to project management team members; to various customer contacts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
An engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent Prior professional experience, including co-op or internship experience, delivering highly successful projects with your fingerprints all over them

Position is hourly, non-exempt (OT eligible), with a schedule of 40-50+ hours per week. Pay range is $28-30 base, with estimated monthly wages totaling $6600
  • 7,150, including overtime.
When on an approved project for per diem, employees are eligible for an additional $100/day, up to $3,100 per month. Benefit eligible after 1 year with 1,560 hours worked.
