Acoustical Engineer II for Phoenix Noise & Vibration LLC to work at our Frederick, MD HQ loc. Per company policy, remote work may be available a portion of each week after 6 months of employment. Perform acoustical analysis, design + calculations. Noise + vibration control design to meet client/code requirements. Conduct vibration measurement + analysis. Conduct field noise or vibration measurement surveys. Perform data reduction + analysis. AutoCAD drawing development + finalization. Full cycle project mgmt (create proposal, interface with client re progress + project status, report billing status to accounting, oversee + approve project invoicing). Present project design + results to clients. Conduct construction inspections + write reports. Collaborate on projects with staff, senior + principal acoustical engineers. Lead projects, provide oversight + direction to associate level engineers. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Architectural, mechanical, plumbing + drawing reviews. Develop + provide complex design schemes for unique job types. Participate in company policy of continual improvement via annual goal setting and professional development efforts. Provide expert witness services. Review + revise engineering processes, tools, + procedures. Participate in business development activities where appropriate. Reference checks may be involved. Applicants may be required to provide samples of previous project work and/or academic records. Job may involve travel to client project sites (to conduct on-site surveys) up to 3 times per year, with each trip lasting approximately 2 days. Travel is generally to Eastern/Central U.S.

Wage:

Must have Bachelors in Engineering (Acoustical, Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical), Physics, or related field with coursework in noise/acoustics and vibration; 3 years relevant exp in engineering with acoustics; and 6 months in required skills. Alternatively, must have Masters in Engineering (Acoustical, Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical), Physics, or related field with coursework in noise/acoustics and vibration; 2 years relevant exp in engineering with acoustics; and 6 months in required skills. Alternatively, must have PhD in Engineering (Acoustical, Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical), Physics, or related field with coursework in noise/acoustics and vibration; 6 months relevant post-doc exp in engineering with acoustics; and 6 months in required skills.

Requires skills:

acoustic principles that can be applicable to building structure and acoustics, environmental acoustics, sound isolation and mechanical noise control; MS Office; Adobe Acrobat; Noise and vibration engineering or consulting.
