Job Title:
Fluid Systems Design Engineer Job Description As a Fluid Systems Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development, build, and testing of propulsion flight and ground hardware. You will perform structural, fluid, and thermal analysis of mechanical components and assemblies, and create detailed component and assembly drawings for flight and ground test hardware. Your role involves creating and maintaining work instructions for the installation of flight hardware onto vehicles, assisting mechanics in integrating all components and assemblies onto aircraft or ground systems, and ordering materials and components as required. Testing propulsion components and assemblies to prepare for integrated subsystem testing is another key aspect of this role. Responsibilities Develop engineering tools as needed to complete tasks. Maintain inventory tracking of critical propulsion components. Manage supplier relations with key vendors. Take technical ownership of clean rooms. Manage engineering release schedules in conjunction with shop planning. Track vehicle propulsion configurations. Review and release drawings, work instructions, and analysis reports. Communicate regularly and comprehensively with the Propulsion Lead. Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems. Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments. Essential Skills Experience in fluid system, aerospace engineering, thermal analysis, and subsystem design. Knowledge in fluid subsystem design, mechanical design, structural engineering, and component or assembly level mechanical or fluid testing. Experience with fluid-mechanical component design and stress analysis. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies. Ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences. Capability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience creating engineering drawings and work instructions. Experience leading a team of engineers. Knowledge of oxygen systems and oxygen cleanliness. Experience with component-level or subsystem level test planning and execution. Active TS/SCI security clearance. Work Environment This position requires onsite presence in the Mojave and surrounding regions, with some flexibility for intermittent work-from-home arrangements. Fully remote or long-distance weekly travel arrangements are not acceptable. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Mojave, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $206000.00/yr. 9/80 schedule Healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) Paid Maternity and Parental Leave 50% company match per contributed dollar into 401(k) savings plan, up to $11,500 Tuition reimbursement relocation Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Mojave,CA.
