Job Description
Job Description SummaryThe Lead SMR Mechanical Systems Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This is a technical position that integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization and requires long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy of the business and manages complex issues within the Systems Engineering area.
Activities focus on the Containment System (T10), including containment function and associated fluid sub-systems. Develop and maintain the System Design Description, Process Flow Calculations/Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering deliverable documents associated with the system.
Responsible for development of specifications/component data sheets for fluid system in-line components.
Work with adjacent teams, disciplines, project management, and contractors to ensure high quality and on time deliverables in support of
Provide support to the Licensing organization for regulatory related deliverables.
Responsible for analysis and design work supporting requirements specificationsImprove areas of project execution and department management through Six Sigma methodologySupport development efforts for both new products and new technologyResponsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programsResponsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Action Work Outs (LAWO)Work on

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in an Engineering roleDesired Characteristics:
Master's degree in engineering or technical disciplinePrevious SRO licenseStrong Leadership skillsKnowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)Experience working with quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9000)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsDemonstrated ability to lead programs/projectsStrong customer mindsetAbility to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressureSix Sigma training is preferredEstablished project management skills This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
