Job Description The Automation Engineer is responsible for successfully completing projects that are broad in nature. You will define the projects, set the goals, and communicate clearly and concisely with all affected parties. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and equipment to meet production goals and quality standards. Responsibilities + Define and manage projects from inception to completion. + Set project goals and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. + Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems and equipment. + Troubleshoot PLCs and design tooling/fixtures. + Lead projects from start to finish with a focus on meeting production goals and quality standards. Essential Skills + Proficiency in PLC programming. + Experience in mechanical engineering and robotics. + Experience with FANUC and Allen-Bradley systems. + Expertise in welding, controls, and manufacturing processes. + Proficient in troubleshooting, programming, and controls engineering. + Familiarity with Rockwell, AutoCAD, RSLogix, and pneumatics. + Expertise in electrical schematics and automation engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Four-year engineering degree. + 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, robotics, and project management. + Proficiency in mechanical design, solidworks, sheet metal, GD&T, and project management. Work Environment This role is part of the corporate engineering team, with the ability to work remotely at times, especially during design phases. The standard workweek is five days, with hybrid flexibility available. The facility is a large manufacturing space of nearly 500,000 square feet, dedicated to producing sheet metal shelving units. It is an older, somewhat noisy building due to fabrication and manufacturing lines. Office spaces are strategically located above the manufacturing floor for easy access to production lines and office work. The work environment is flexible, with a casual dress code and a laid-back atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
