Hours/Week Summary of Duties:
Review customer specifications and requirements while working with engineering project team to ensure we deliver a complete and optimal product. Take overall mechanical ownership of the project bill of materials including developing new assemblies, validating functionality, and releasing the part/assemblies to production. Provide direction as mechanical technical lead to a team of designers who will take your concepts and turn them into new or updated 3D models. Work directly with the factory manufacturing team addressing any challenges as they produce your designs. Help improve our products by working collaboratively to identify design enhancements. Help improve our processes and tools by providing feedback to team leads and business excellent teams. Siemens products possibly supported by this role: GM-SG medium voltage switchgear, SIMOVAC medium voltage Motor Controllers, SIEBREAK medium voltage metal-enclosed interrupter. Hybrid work permitted.
Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Mechanical Design Engineer or an acceptable alternate occupation. Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as a Mechanical Design Engineer or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following skills: Experience working in a complex made to order manufacturing environment; Experience working with medium voltage switch gears; Experience working with 3D models; Experience with AutoCAD; Experience with SAP or a similar MRP/ERP system; Working with complex engineering Bill of Materials.
