Job Description

A well-established multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Design Engineer to join its growing team in Somerville, New Jersey. Known for delivering high-quality engineering and design solutions, the organization works across commercial, educational, and industrial projects. The team fosters a collaborative and forward-thinking environment focused on technical excellence and sustainable design. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to impactful and diverse projects. The Senior Mechanical / HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for: Designing and developing HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of projects Preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and load calculations Coordinating with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver integrated designs Managing multiple projects while ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met Reviewing designs for compliance with applicable codes and industry standards Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff The Senior Mechanical / HVAC Design Engineer should have the following: 8 to 10+ years of experience in mechanical or HVAC system design Professional Engineer (PE) license required Strong experience with commercial, educational, and industrial building systems Proficiency in relevant design software and engineering tools Excellent communication and collaboration skills Benefits & Perks Hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days remote Competitive compensation package Opportunity to work on a wide range of impactful projects Supportive and collaborative team environment If you are an experienced and licensed mechanical engineer looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
