Mechanical Engineer Job Description A manufacturing division is seeking experienced CAD professionals to support a high-volume SKU redesign and facility transition project. This role will focus on updating and modifying CAD models and drawings to align with a new manufacturing process and prepare products for validation at a new facility. This is a fast-paced, project-based role requiring strong SolidWorks expertise, particularly in routing and sheet metal design. Responsibilities Update and modify existing CAD models and engineering drawings across a large number of SKUs. Incorporate design changes required for a new manufacturing (e-coating) process, including weep holes, gas holes, and mounting holes. Ensure design intent is clearly communicated through CAD models and drawings. Support validation and testing efforts for new SKUs in a new production facility. Create and update assemblies and component-level models, drawings and documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Implement design changes based on validation feedback during production ramp-up. Release components and documentation through PLM/PDM systems. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical field. 5+ years' experience with SolidWorks, including solid bodies, complex assemblies, large design sets, and drawings. Experience in rapid design revision turnaround of existing SolidWorks CAD and drawing release. BOM management and revision control. Strong experience with SolidWorks tube or pipe routing and sheet metal design. Proficiency in engineering change processes and release discipline. Additional Skills & Qualifications Working knowledge of ERP systems (release to manufacturing XA preferred). Experience with PDM (Vault Dassault preferred). Preferred experience with TubeWorks (ITEC) or tube/weldment design. Metal fabrication, welded assemblies, and laser cutting experience. Experience with PLM Enovia/3D experience (Dassault). Work Environment The location can be fully remote or hybrid, with three days a week on-site in either Seguin, TX, or Shiner. The work environment is dynamic, involving high-volume project work with opportunities to contribute to significant transitions in manufacturing processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seguin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
