POSITION SUMMARY

The Packaging and Equipment Engineer is responsible for the development, qualification, optimization, and commercialization of packaging systems and equipment for chemical products. This role partners closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations to ensure packaging and equipment is safe, functional, cost-effective, manufacturable, compliant, and aligned with customer and market requirements. The Packaging and Equipment Engineer will lead packaging and equipment development from concept through commercialization, with particular emphasis on chemical compatibility, package integrity, product protection, transportation performance, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency. The position will evaluate packaging materials, equipment and components for compatibility with chemical formulations and establish appropriate specifications, testing protocols, and performance requirements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Source new packaging and equipment solutions for both new and existing products. Improve existing packaging and equipment to enhance functionality, cost efficiency, and compliance. Conduct package and equipment testing to verify stability and adherence to shipping regulations. Create, maintain, and update specifications for all packaging used in manufacture, and equipment sold corporately. Develop and revise finished goods purchase specifications for all equipment; coordinate with vendors to ensure approved and signed specifications are in place. Ensure all product packaging meets applicable aesthetic, functionality, shipping and regulatory requirements; coordinate with vendors to ensure approved and signed specifications are in place. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Equipment or Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in packaging design, or package engineering. Background in cosmetics, food or chemical manufacturing industry preferred. Proven experience working with packaging suppliers on design, sampling, testing, and specification development. Knowledge of relevant packaging testing procedures. Ability to work individually and as part of an interdepartmental team. Familiarity with departmental procedures and work instructions.
