Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience working in a building services environment .
- 2. Track record of managing and developing engineering teams at a senior level on both capital and revenue projects.
- 3. Professional Engineer with specialist knowledge and expertise of building services engineering systems to influence service delivery and activities within the organisation.
- 4. Experience of leading and overseeing the design of mechanical buildings services and infrastructure projects ensuring they are compliant, fit for purpose and efficient in operation.
- 5. Experience of managing major mechanical infrastructure projects involving multi-agency working within an educational, commercial or industrial environment .

Hold or working towards full Chartered membership of the Engineering Council. 3. Knowledge of energy management and Building Management Systems (BMS). 4. Continuing professional development to maintain professional recognition. 5. Good working knowledge of University structures and estates procedures (including improvements and capital). 6. - Lead on the design, implementation and monitoring of mechanical engineering services policy and quality standards, procedures and systems to ensure effective working and continuous improvement.
- Lead on the design and installation of mechanical buildings services and infrastructure ensuring they are safe, compliance, fit for purpose and efficient in operation.
- Act as a specialist point of contact dealing with complex mechanical builiding services systems and act as Authorised Person (AP) for relevant mechanical engineering systems as required.
- Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of university policy and external developments when carrying out your role.
- Ensure that policy and regulatory standards are met by activities carried out in services you are responsible for.
- Use your professional knowledge and experience as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to provide subject matter expertise and advice.
- Use your managerial and leadership expertise to identify priorities and shape mechanical building services to achieve the required outcomes.
- Look for ways to continually improve services and take a lead role in the development and implementation of assigned policies, processes and standards.
- Initiate and manage business process reviews to improve the service in your area.

- Lead and manage major capital and refurbishment projects across the organisation, monitoring performance, providing progress reports and taking action to ensure agreed outcomes are met.
- Assign activities within agreed operational and strategic plans to relevant project teams for them to deliver.

- Manage and monitor health and safety assessments and procedures to ensure compliance.
