SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection (MEPFP) team located with Hybrid Flexibility in either Greensboro or Charlotte, NC . The primary responsibility of this position is to provide project leadership and oversight and team coordination. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree a plus. 8+ years related experience, preferably in a consulting engineering firm. Professional Engineer (PE) with capability of licensure in the states of NC, SC, or VA. Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, ASHRAE guidelines, and mechanical codes related to buildings and other structures. This includes HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, duct sizing, and piping. Familiarity with commissioning, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems preferred. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects at one time throughout distinct phases from beginning to construction. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam. Responsibilities Manage several projects simultaneously; perform engineering tasks and provide guidance to project teams; ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of a high technical quality; generate creative solutions; translate concepts and information into images; use feedback to modify and apply design principals and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Design and analyze mechanical systems, including but not limited to, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVACR), hydronic, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Maintain high quality and uniform standards. Perform (primarily computer-based) heating and cooling load calculations for building systems. Prepare cost estimates, submittals, RFI's, and specifications. Coordinate and assist with field measurements, data collection, field reports, field observation and/or site inspections. Attend design coordination meeting with team members and client representatives. Support and maintain client relationships. Prepare monthly percent completes, projections, and pre-bills for invoicing. Partner with Marketing & Business Development in responding to RFQ's, preparing and participating in project interviews, and presentation support.
