Role:

Sustaining Design Engineer What You'll Do As a key member of our engineering team, you'll take ownership of product development projects from initial concept through production release and inventory launch. Key Responsibilities Lead product design and improvement projects from customer concept through production and inventory. Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, resources, risks, and status reporting. Develop innovative product solutions that optimize form, fit, function, quality, cost, and manufacturability. Build and lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, technical submittals, and controlled documentation. Utilize CAD software, simulations, 3D modeling, prototype printing, ERP/PLM systems, and other engineering tools. Design and execute testing protocols, pilot builds, validation activities, and feasibility studies. Analyze test data and product performance to validate designs and drive continuous improvement. Investigate product failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective design solutions. Coordinate production launches and support manufacturing teams with implementation and training. Ensure compliance with domestic and international codes, standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements. Maintain product listings, certifications, engineering change documentation, and technical records. Research emerging technologies, industry regulations, and compliance requirements to support future product development. Train employees and customer-facing teams on product and compliance-related topics. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent combination of education and relevant engineering experience. Minimum of 5 years of product design or product development experience , preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and techniques used to develop products that are safe, reliable, and high-performing. Proven experience leading multiple engineering projects simultaneously while managing priorities, timelines, and resources. Technical Skills Excellent design, drafting, and technical drawing capabilities. Proficiency with CAD software, simulations, 3D modeling, and prototype development technologies. Experience with manufacturing processes, materials, assembly methods, and production operations. Understanding of engineering validation, testing methodologies, and product qualification processes. Knowledge of product compliance requirements, certifications, and engineering documentation practices. Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with PLM, ERP, and data management systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions with minimal supervision. Compensation:

USD $85,000 - $95,000
