Position Summary:
Support manufacturing by creating and maintaining accurate bills of materials, routings, CAD models, and engineering drawings. This position connects engineering information with NetSuite production records and helps Sales, Parts, Purchasing, Inventory, and Production resolve questions involving new orders and legacy products.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings in NetSuite for new orders, including components, quantities, and production operations. Provide SolidWorks modeling and drawing support for new orders, product changes, and existing equipment. Update parts, assemblies, and drawings to reflect approved requirements. Develop a working understanding of legacy part numbers, BOMs, CAD files, and drawings. Research discrepancies and help departments identify the correct parts and product configurations. Review existing BOMs for accuracy and completeness. Resolve differences among engineering drawings, NetSuite records, inventory information, and actual manufacturing requirements. Work with Production and Inventory to resolve component and material discrepancies affecting work orders and support accurate work order completion and closure. Review and correct legacy CAD data before entry into SolidWorks PDM, including file references, part numbers, properties, revisions, and associated drawings. Support ETL and UL compliance activities by providing engineering drawings and product documentation, addressing technical findings, and coordinating required design changes. Maintain consistent engineering documentation and revision records so departments can identify and use the appropriate released information. Provide timely engineering support to Sales, Parts, Purchasing, Inventory, and Production, including part identification, drawing interpretation, and manufacturing questions.
Qualifications:
Degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience using SolidWorks to create and modify mechanical parts, assemblies, and drawings. Understanding of BOMs, manufacturing routings, work orders, and engineering revision control. Strong attention to detail, practical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate and prioritize work across departments.
