In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling solutions that optimize production processes and ensure high-quality output. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance manufacturing efficiency, and support the seamless operation of our manufacturing facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical engineering skills and advanced Solidworks knowledge in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Responsibilities
  • Review quality data for production parts to determine changes required to production tooling and spare components.
  • Assist Manager with all outsourced tooling requirements.
  • Support press department to develop corrective actions for daily production issues.
  • Work with outside suppliers to maintain timely delivery for outsourced details.
  • Maintain in-process Quality Control procedures and documentation.
  • International Travel to complete new tool buyoff
  • Assist in trying out tools and optimizing to achieve Quality Control accepted parts (in plant).
  • Housekeeping and 5S in and around machinery.
  • Compliant with ISO requirements per the training provided
  • Modify and Implement designs for customers or internal changes from inception to completion
  • Maintain die detail revision level history (ECN)
  • Ability to interact with all levels employees from shop floor to top management
  • Able to proficiently update 3D models and 2D drawings from hand sketches or verbal communication
  • Able to recreate 3D model and 2D drawings from whole or damaged die details using calipers, micometers, scales, cmm data.
  • Understand and generate Process Router for internal die detail manufacture
  • Able to use all shop tools to repair or modify dies
  • Generate RFQ for new dies or details
  • Lead or Participate in cross functional team to solve complex issues
  • Generate and communicate reports as needed for problems or process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Skills
  • Proficient with Solidworks, Draftsight (Autocad), Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude.
  • Support the following: Tool makers across three shifts. Quality personal. Design engineer, machining personnel and outsource suppliers.
  • Communication with all levels of Employees
  • Work within a team or alone to complete tasks
Experience Requirements:
  • 4 Year Degree + 4 Years working in high volume metal stamping or 8 Years working as a
Toolmaker Pay:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
