Primary Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for designing and developing products and product families Organizes and leads stage-gate projects for new product development Develops new products for residential and commercial construction industry Communicates effectively with internal team members and customers Evaluates and designs products and processes for maximum performance, functionality, etc. Produces concepts and prototypes effectively through Solidworks, 3-D printing, machine shops, production teams, etc. Carries out laboratory testing for design verification and validation, product performance, etc. Demonstrates ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals Relies on engineering logic and principles to plan and accomplish goals Operates in a manner consistent with the mission of the department and business Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude to accomplish tasks Occasional travel with overnight stays Meet all safety requirements
Skills Required:
3-D solid modeling CAD experience (preferably Solidworks) Finite element analysis experience (preferably Solidworks Simulation) MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Knowledgeable with manufacturing processes, materials science, laboratory and measuring equipment, technical drawings, Proven ability as a self-starting, motivated leader Project leadership and teamwork Ability to manage projects from concept to market introduction Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks at one time Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Education & Experience required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or related field Minimum 2 years In-tern, co-op or on the job experience Education & Experience preferred: Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques 3-5 years prior and related experience Solidworks experience CAD/CAM experience This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive.
