Job Description

Enclave is a small, thriving company focused on product design/development. We continue to vertically integrate and focus on Design For Manufacture in the USA and are headquartered in Soddy-Daisy Tennessee (greater Chattanooga area). Additionally, Enclave places a high level of regard for candidates who fit within our company culture and ethos. Only candidates who are comfortable working in support of the Department of War and law enforcement communities should apply for this position. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, resourceful, mechanical engineer to work on our drone responder program for law enforcement. This person should be disciplined and dependable in their work habits, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and customers.
Key areas of experience/competence include:
General:
Driven, self-starting, proactive, outside the box thinking individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment as an individual or small team Be an excellent communicator, organized, and a planner, capable of working with varying levels of guidance Must be comfortable building and doing tangible things, whether that is 3D prints or otherwise, in order to promote iterative learning/failing fast (proofs of concepts, test articles, etc.) Must learn, adopt, and utilize the company design process standards ----- Perform detailed design of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies including concept development, detailed 3D CAD layout and design and drawing generation Design parts for common manufacturing processes like sheet metal fabrication, machining, injection molding, etc.
Perform basic engineering calculations:
tolerance, stress, thermal, energy and electrical analysis Familiarity with rapid prototyping (3D printing) Proficiency with hand tools and manual/CNC machinery Design-for-manufacturability-focused (DFM) Fluency in Solidworks is a requirement for this position Electrical/electronics assembly/soldering is a plus
