Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM Position Overview Vallourec is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance, operations, reliability, and capital improvement initiatives at its Channelview, Texas facility. This position will provide field-based engineering support for production equipment, equipment modifications, reliability improvements, installations, troubleshooting, and fabrication activities. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial mechanical engineering experience, excellent CAD skills, and the ability to work directly in an active manufacturing environment. Experience in a steel mill, pipe mill, casing mill, or other heavy manufacturing operation is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Perform field measurements and critical equipment measurements in an active industrial environment. Develop fabrication, assembly, installation, and modification drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Create and maintain ASME/ANSI-compliant engineering drawings and documentation. Update drawings and manage revisions as equipment and designs are modified. Reverse engineer obsolete or hard-to-source mechanical components. Evaluate damaged equipment and determine repair or replacement feasibility. Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams. Manage the technical aspects of equipment installations and modifications. Develop engineering recommendations for equipment repairs, upgrades, and reliability improvements. Work with vendors, fabrication shops, maintenance personnel, operations, engineering, and supervisors to execute projects. Perform vendor and fabrication shop audits as required. Troubleshoot production equipment and recommend corrective actions. Support capital improvement projects from field assessment through installation and implementation. Typical Engineering Projects The Mechanical Engineer may support projects and improvements involving: Hydraulic cylinder mounting modifications Conveyor upgrades and modifications Kicker paddle modifications Bushing and pin modifications Material selection for bushings, pins, and wear components Weigh stencil bridge improvements Reliability and maintainability upgrades Production machine modifications Rotating equipment improvements Equipment installation and commissioning Troubleshooting of mechanical production equipment Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience . Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks . Demonstrated ability to create ASME/ANSI-compliant engineering drawings. Experience performing field measurements and developing fabrication drawings. Experience reverse engineering obsolete or existing mechanical components.

Working knowledge of:

Hydraulics Conveyors Bearings Bushings Shafts Gearboxes Rotating equipment Experience supporting equipment installations and capital projects. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with maintenance, operations, engineering, vendors, fabrication shops, and site leadership. Preferred Qualifications Industrial maintenance and reliability engineering experience. Experience in a steel mill, pipe mill, casing mill, or other heavy manufacturing environment. Experience with production equipment modifications and troubleshooting. Experience working directly with industrial vendors and fabrication shops. Familiarity with mechanical equipment used in high-volume manufacturing environments. Physical & Field Requirements This is a hands-on, field-based engineering position. The successful candidate must be able to: Walk throughout active production areas. Climb stairs, platforms, and industrial structures. Enter and work around production equipment where safely permitted. Crawl into or access industrial machinery to obtain measurements. Perform detailed field measurements in challenging industrial environments. Work safely around operating and industrial machinery in accordance with site requirements. Safety Requirements The engineer must comply with all Vallourec safety requirements and applicable site policies, including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Site safety orientation Safe work permits Applicable environmental, health, and safety procedures All other Vallourec safety policies and procedures Reporting & Collaboration The primary points of contact for this assignment are Cody Morris and DeMorris King . The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with: Maintenance Operations Engineering Production supervisors Vendors Fabrication shops Contractors Other site technical personnel Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills are essential to success in this role. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical, field-oriented Mechanical Engineer who can move comfortably between engineering design work and hands-on troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment. This individual should be comfortable taking measurements in the field, translating those measurements into accurate drawings, working with maintenance and fabrication teams, and developing practical engineering solutions that improve equipment reliability, safety, and production performance. #
