Job Description

NSB Omega is searching for a Mechanical & Rotating Functional Engineer for our Client in Freeport, TX.
Assignment Description Key Responsibilities:
Project Support:
Discipline lead of minor capital projects through all phases, from initial concept and justification to final startup and closeout.
Technical Design & Specification:
Develop and oversee engineering data sheets.
Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
Support Front-End Loading (FEL) studies
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
Specify and select rotating equipment and manage relationships with external vendors.
Field Support:
Oversee assigned run, maintain, and project activities. Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality Assurance that ensures safe and reliable commissioning and startup.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure mechanical engineering activities adheres to Management of Change (MOC) processes and meets industry standards.
Contract Logistic Duration:
Typical contracts for minor capital portfolios range from 12 to 24 months to see projects through multiple budget cycles.
Work Schedule:
Expect a standard 4-10, 40 hour week, with extended hours required during critical project tie-ins or site turnarounds.

Freeport TX Deliverables:
Develop work scopes, design criteria, and engineering deliverables of specifications and datasheets Execute and manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for assigned projects Interface with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on design and execution Perform and review system studies Assist developing project cost estimates, schedules, and execution plans Review and approve run and maintain and project stage gates, including documents and specifications are supported by applicable codes and standards: Equipment selection evaluations Technical bid evaluations Equipment specifications and vendor drawings Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) PFDs & P&IDs Inspection test and performance test plans As-built drawings Turnover packages Ensure regulatory compliance as it relates to project execution Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews Support mechanical engineering activities including: Installation, field changes, and contractor oversight Commissioning and startup activities including checkout procedures and functional testing Troubleshooting and issue resolution
Qualifications Experience:
5-10+ years in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, with a proven track record in project engineering.
Technical Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with rotating equipment including pumps, turbines, compressors, fans, blowers, and their integration with existing equipment and systems.
Soft Skills:
Strong project reporting skills and the ability to communicate technical requirements effectively to multi-disciplinary teams. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Duration 1 Year(With Possibility of Extension) Location Freeport, TX
