Focus:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in maintenance and mechanical engineering to support Operations and Maintenance personnel across the plant. This includes troubleshooting equipment failures, advising repairs, restoring functionality, and contributing to long-term facility and equipment strategies. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer will help resolve plant issues, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet spending plans, production targets, and cost objectives.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Essential Job Functions:
Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to diagnose failures, eliminate root causes, and evaluate solutions for broader company implementation Collaborate closely with the Mechanical Coordinator to ensure effective troubleshooting, repair planning, and high-quality execution leveraging both technical and field expertise Provide technical expertise on equipment failures and repairs, ensuring proper repair techniques, documentation, and delivery of specific equipment training Support development and optimization of maintenance strategies, including Predictive and Preventative Maintenance (PPM), equipment criticality, spare parts review, and maintainability improvements Contribute to development of operating and maintenance procedures, job plans, and work orders, ensuring engineering standards and detailed technical requirements are met for critical equipment Provide engineering support across operations, including rotating and fixed equipment, troubleshooting assistance, and leadership in day-to-day decision-making, while collaborating with cross-functional teams Support projects, turnarounds, shutdowns, and start-ups by developing job scopes, coordinating execution and providing technical oversight Own and execute smaller expense projects as assigned (Itemized Activities)
Senior Mechanical Engineer Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree• in Engineering or Engineering Technology; Mechanical Engineering degree• preferred 7+ years of maintenance/mechanical engineering experience; chemical manufacturing experience preferred Must have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills Must be flexible during off hours to support plant operations Work experience with the following preferred: Pump System Evaluations and Improvements Vessel Evaluations and Communicate Improvements/Repairs Work experience managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids, and development of desired solutions for projects preferred Demonstrated knowledge of API standards such as API510, API571, API653 and other related standards, as well as knowledge of
OSHA 1910.119 PSM
