100% Grow Your Mechanical Career on a High‑Impact Infrastructure Project TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer - Mechanical to support a major energy‑infrastructure project connected to large‑scale data‑center systems. This opportunity puts you at the center of some of the most critical mechanical scopes in modern construction—cooling, HVAC, airflow management, and equipment integration. Mechanical systems make up one of the most complex and essential parts of data‑center‑related construction, with heavy focus on HVAC, chilled water/DX cooling, CRAC/CRAH units, airflow management, and fire‑suppression integration. Additionally, more than 60% of mega‑project scope is typically tied to MEP systems, underscoring how central mechanical engineering is to project success. What You'll Do Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals (HVAC, cooling systems, airflow, equipment schematics). Support installation of
CRAC/CRAH
units, chillers, ductwork, pumps, piping, and mechanical equipment. Coordinate with GC, subs, electrical teams, controls/BMS, and other engineering disciplines.
Track project documentation:
RFIs, submittals, mechanical logs, schedules, punch lists. Participate in walkdowns, inspections, system startup, and QA/QC tasks. Support mechanical commissioning planning — a major driver in mission‑critical projects. Work from a jobsite trailer as part of a collaborative, high‑performing owner‑side team. What We're Looking For 1-5+ years of mechanical engineering or construction experience Experience with HVAC, cooling, mechanical equipment, or industrial systems Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (ductwork, piping, equipment schedules) Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar tools Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple trades Team‑oriented mindset — low ego, collaborative, dependable Comfortable working 100% onsite Why This Role Stands Out Join early in schematic design and gain end‑to‑end project exposure Work on critical mechanical systems essential to facility uptime Fast‑paced, low‑drama, high‑team‑energy environment Long project duration (12 months → 2.5 years) Per diem available (GSA‑based)
