Spherion is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturing company to recruit a highly innovative Mechanical Design Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity. Responsibilities:
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing new products and identifying strategic improvements to existing products. A key part of your role will involve driving continuous improvements to successfully capture manufacturing throughput enhancements. You will work closely with cross-functional team members including sales, service, manufacturing, and maintenance departments to ensure all constraints are considered for the optimal design of equipment and processes. Additionally, you will be trusted to oversee the work of other engineers, drafters, and craftsmen as assigned.

Technical Writing:
Capability to write clear performance requirements for product development and establish equipment maintenance procedures or spare parts lists.
Adaptability:
Comfort working in both an office setting and a manufacturing plant environment, where temperatures can range from 25-F to 110-F+

Education:
Requires a minimum of a bachelor???s degree from an ABET-accredited school in Mechanical Engineering.
Core Expertise:
Must have robust knowledge in the design and implementation of industrial electromechanical equipment.
Compliance & Safety:
Ability to ensure all safety and governmental requirements are strictly met in the design of equipment.
Project Management:
Able to independently plan and successfully complete a varied, demanding, and time-constrained workload.
Availability:
Must be able to work Monday???Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with additional hours as required for job completion.

Willingness to undertake limited, occasional travel (typically less than 20% annually).
