ABOUT A Student Assistant (SA) at TJC plays an important role in promoting the mission of the department/office and college. The SA is required to perform various clerical tasks that aide in maintaining an organized workflow of the department/office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Primary Responsibilities Provides oversight of the computer lab resources in Pirtle Tech T246 and T-249 Ensures appropriate use by students from the Engineering Design Technology program or the Surveying and Geomatics program for these classrooms Ensures no food or drink, distracting behavior or other disturbances in the lab; and if any occur then reports any activities to Professor Priest for review and follow up Answers basic questions and/or tutoring advice to students of the EDT/SVRY
Programs when possible Assists in clean-up and organization of the EDT/SVRY
books and resources within the lab, as directed Assists with and ensure proper use of 3d printing equipment, if it is being utilized by students COMPETENCIES

Students must be registered for undergraduate classes and maintain enrollment status to work in these positions. Students may qualify for Federal Work Study, which will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Additional Job Specific Requirements Students are allowed to work a maximum of eighteen (18) hours per week and cannot work in multiple hourly positions. A work week is Sunday-Saturday. Students must be a Sophomore of the Engineering Design Technology Department or Surveying and Geomatics Department, and have completed the following courses successfully: COSC 1301 DFTG 1305 DFTG 1309 MATH 1314
