Job Description

Confidential Opportunity - Senior Mechanical Leadership Role | MEP Consulting (Salt Lake City Office) A highly respected and established MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Leader to help develop and grow its Salt Lake City office. This is a confidential opportunity for an experienced professional who is ready to take a leadership role in office expansion, client development, and project delivery within a growing regional market. The firm is recognized for delivering innovative mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering solutions across healthcare, education (K-12 and higher education), government, commercial, laboratory, and institutional projects. Their portfolio includes some of the region's most complex and technically advanced facilities, with a strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and client service. This role is ideal for a seasoned mechanical engineer who is motivated by both technical excellence and leadership responsibility, with the ability to help shape strategy, build client relationships, and guide project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with senior leadership across multiple regional offices to support strategic growth initiatives Lead the development and expansion of the Salt Lake City office Participate in business development, client engagement, proposals, and project pursuits Manage and strengthen client relationships while supporting long-term account growth Oversee project execution including scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality Serve as primary client interface to define expectations and ensure successful delivery Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction administration Prepare or oversee HVAC system design, calculations, equipment selection, specifications, and construction documentation Produce and review design drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD Conduct site visits, construction observations, and field coordination as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience in consulting engineering with leadership or management responsibilities Strong knowledge of institutional and commercial building mechanical systems Understanding of applicable codes, standards, and industry practices PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure Proficiency with Revit strongly preferred Strong client management and business development skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and support office growth
