Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers. In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer 1 you'll play a pivotal part on our Engineering team. The Level 1 Mechanical Engineer has the following scope of work:  The design function. This includes basic research, data acquisition, and engineering required to generate engineering product (parts list, drawings, documents, etc.)  The design content. Ensure the design content conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer statement of work, along with applicable certification requirements  Career growth. This includes working with Senior Technical Engineers and Project Engineers to grow in engineering experience  Guidance required  With guidance, the Level 1 Mechanical Engineer is expected to prepare engineering product using applicable computer tools and programs maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in product designs.  Ensure the NAT's drawings and documents meet the standards established by the NAT quality system, customer requirements, and applicable certification authority.

Job Requirements Knowledge/Experience:

 The Level 1 Mechanical Engineer should have a 4-year engineering degree, preferably in a field that offers the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering) or industry experience that is equivalent to a four-year degree.  An engineering degree or 2-5 years of broad technical experience as a drafter/designer in an aerospace related application, preferred.  Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

Skills/Abilities:

 Drawing management  Troubleshooting/problem solving  Ability to work within a team  Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal  Understanding of customer's expectations  Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure  Superior attention to detail

Working Conditions:

 Primarily office work  Consistent use of computer key board and monitor  Does require fluent communication in English  Protracted or irregular hours may be required  Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines, thus completing work on time

Physical Requirements:

 Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
