Echodyne offers the world's first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points. Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM). Echodyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our fast-growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform radar enclosure and associated PCBA integration design Create engineering drawings Perform thermal, structural, and modal analysis Support integration and field-testing activities for Echodyne's MESA-based products Conduct enclosure trade-studies/sketches Perform detailed CAD design Conduct hand calculations and FEA simulation Analyze customer environment specifications and tailor solutions accordingly Manage fabrication vendors from prototype through production Implement Product Life Management processes and controls Other related tasks required to fulfill the needs of the business
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Proficient user of Solidworks for mechanical design and drafting Engineering experience in electronics enclosure design, with understanding of thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations Knowledge of the mechanical considerations of PCBA design and PCBA packaging Experience designing parts for different fabrication processes Ability to perform limited thermal, stress and modal analysis sufficient for design concept validation Ability to perform tolerance analysis for complex assemblies Ability to work design projects independently from initial concept to delivery Experience working on design of complex technology that requires multi-disciplinary engineering design teams
QUALIFICATIONS BS, MS
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years' experience. Echodyne's technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant's eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations.
