Position Summary Red Hawk Fire Protection is seeking an Entry-Level Project Engineer / Design Trainee to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in construction management, engineering, or fire protection design. You will receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced project managers, designers, and sales professionals to help coordinate projects from design through completion. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical knowledge, project coordination skills, customer service experience, and an understanding of fire protection systems while building a career path toward Project Management, Design, or Estimating. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and documentation Learn fire sprinkler design principles and industry standards (NFPA) Support project managers and designers throughout the project lifecycle Help prepare project documentation, reports, submittals, and closeout packages Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal departments Learn AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, and other industry software Participate in jobsite visits and project surveys Assist with estimating, permitting, and project setup Maintain organized project files and ensure quality and accuracy Develop strong communication and customer service skills Goals for the
Position:
Technical Proficiency :
Achieve a solid foundation in AutoSPRINK and AutoCAD software, NFPA standards, and fire protection design principles, building a base of technical skills essential for advancement.
Understanding Project Flow :
Develop an understanding of the project lifecycle, from design planning and material coordination to permitting and quality control, supporting efficient and accurate project execution.
Effective Collaboration :
Build strong communication and collaboration skills, working with designers, project managers, and other trades to support smooth project operations and coordination.
Quality Standards & Compliance :
Learn to meet industry standards and comply with safety and quality guidelines, ensuring that all design work aligns with Red Hawk's commitment to excellence. Pathway to

Work Experience:
High school diploma or GED Strong organizational and time management skills Positive attitude with a willingness to learn Excellent communication and customer service skills Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Mechanical aptitude and interest in construction or engineering Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus but not required Valid driver's license & reliable vehicle Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen, background check, and reference check Working Conditions Expected working hours and conditions are as follows: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 3:00pm in a professional office setting with normal working conditions and regular weekly time spent visiting construction sites. Physical Requirements Repetitive tasks including, but not limited to: Typing Computer operation Sitting at a workstation or desk Telephone correspondence Ability to walk on uneven terrain at a job site, and climb stairs or ladders Able to carry survey equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Salary Range:
$22.00-$28.00 per hour Depending on
