Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking an exceptional Mechanical Engineer who has a proven ability to execute tasks efficiently and effectively. The role involves developing both 3D and 2D mechanical designs and conducting related analyses specifically for payload satellite systems using Siemens NX (preferred). The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering suitable for both prototype and production-level designs. Responsibilities Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs for payload satellite systems using Siemens NX. Conduct related analyses and ensure designs meet engineering standards. Work on both prototype and production-level design projects. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Hardware, Reliability, and Firmware to define and drive work scope and system-level trade-offs. Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs. Specify and justify margins and test sequences for aerospace systems. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of experience with CAD. 5+ years of experience in the design and development of hardware at scale, particularly in PCBA packaging or electronics enclosures. 7+ years of experience in the development, testing, and deployment of aerospace systems. Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis. Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing process development. Additional Skills & Qualifications 6+ years of experience in the design, qualification, and volume production of PCBA enclosures for spacecraft. Proficiency in Siemens NX; experience with other design software is considered with a strong electro-mechanical experience. Experience with issue tracking applications like JIRA or TRAC. Strong time and task management skills with consistent attention to detail. Ability to provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Work Environment This role requires working onsite in Redmond. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
