Pay:
$20.00•$23.00 an hour Job Summary Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design, development and/or promotion of Wagstaff casting equipment. Primary Job Responsibilities Assist with the design documents necessary for the production of research casting equipment Assist with finding solutions to problems using brainstorming and academic work to develop new equipment Create documented technical and analytical evaluations for design solutions as part of the project file, keeping safety, functionality, and cost effectiveness paramount Work in the lab to conduct experiments for other Engineers and document the data. In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required Must exercise discretion and judgment to provide design and engineering solutions for Wagstaff-supplied equipment Abide by company policies Other duties as assigned Qualifications Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Engineering field
General Characteristics:
Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area Applies prescribed and/or standard techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks Exercises limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work Acquires and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities:
Assist with designs of a system, component, or process of standard complexity Performs standard computations or analysis as needed Prepares Drawings Leadership Skills Direction Received Receives close supervision on unusual or difficult problems, and general review of all aspects of work Communication Skills Academic oral and technical writing skills Attends Customer project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignment. May occasionally lead the meetings
