Position Summary This position involves supporting design, development, and testing rack mounted network equipment. Responsibilities include design of sheet metal and injection molded parts, as well as the thermal and structural analysis and reporting required to support those designs. Responsibilities
- Have experience in server appliance and chassis design in enterprize or OCP rack environment Use of SolidWorks mechanical CAD software CSWP or equivalent
- Extensive design of sheet metal, injection molding, castings, machined parts and similar.
- Mechanical layout of circuit board (PCB/PCA) assemblies.
- Component selection evaluation (fans, heat sinks, connectors, hardware, etc.)
- Simulation and Analysis of designs, including thermal and structural evaluations.
- Capable of generating reports for testing, tolerance, and fit analysis studies.
- Hands-on support prototype builds and evaluation of changes
- Review and check engineering drawings.
- Creation and release of the Bill of Materials.
- Preparation and release of Engineering Change Orders and Deviations
- Conduct design reviews using PowerPoint, Excel, or similar appropriate tools.
- Adhere to project schedules.
- Support cross-functional team meetings. Qualifications
- BSME or MSME from an accredited university
- Familiarity with mechanical CAD and simulation software
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design.
- Ability to understand and design mechanical assemblies in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with basic shop tools
- Willingness to take initiative, is self-motivated, and grow in responsibility.
- Has good verbal and written communication skills
- Competence with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work with and clearly communicate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and lab technicians. Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Daily desk and computer use in office environment.
- Occasional use of lab and shop equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. on occasion
