In this role, you'll be responsible for creating innovative, manufacturable mechanical designs while collaborating with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through commissioning and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Design custom mechanical systems and equipment using 3D CAD software. Develop detailed engineering drawings, assemblies, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation. Design sheet metal components, welded structures, and mechanical assemblies with a strong focus on manufacturability. Reverse engineer existing equipment to improve performance, reliability, and serviceability. Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements and develop engineered solutions. Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and project teams throughout the design and build process. Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), prototype validation, and equipment troubleshooting. Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities when required. Manage multiple engineering projects while maintaining schedules and project objectives. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, design optimization, and cost reduction. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience designing industrial equipment, automation systems, or custom machinery. Strong experience designing sheet metal components and welded structures. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar). Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing automated equipment or material handling systems. Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and startup support. Experience supporting prototype development, testing, and continuous product improvement.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
