Job Description
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components, systems, and equipment. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations to deliver safe, reliable, and cost‑effective mechanical solutions throughout the product lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and product launch activities Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support root cause and corrective action efforts Participate in engineering change management and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with suppliers on component selection, specifications, and technical issues Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements Document designs, procedures, and technical data to support production and qualityRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience (level may vary based on role) Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or equivalent Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis Experience with FEA, testing, or validation methods Familiarity with ERP systems and documentation control Project management or cross‑functional team experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofNEW BERLIN, WI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
