Headquarters in Waukesha, Superior Crane Corporation is a family owned manufacturer and supplier for material handling equipment including singular components such as hoists and parts, to complete crane systems of small and large capacities. We offer turnkey manufacturing with the ability to make components in-house. Our hard-working teams manufacture overhead cranes, hoists, monorail systems and more. We provide maintenance, parts, inspections and installation, and are a full-service machine shop specializing in short runs for a quick turnaround. We machine all types of material including stainless, hard materials, brass, copper, cast iron, weldments and forgings. Our team is committed to safety, innovation, and excellence in every project. Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, analyzing, and supporting our crane systems, components and related material handling equipment. This role focuses on structural design, mechanical components, lifting systems and custom engineered solutions to meet customer requirements while ensuring compliance with applicable safety, quality and industry standards. You will collaborate across departments to ensure our products meet above average standards and client specifications. Responsibilities Design and engineer overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, monorail systems, hoists, and custom lifting devices in 3D Software Select and specify mechanical components including hoists, gearboxes, wheels, bearings, shafts, couplings, brakes and drive assemblies. Review customer specification, project requirements, and application data to develop engineered solutions. Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use Participate in design reviews, engineering change notices, and revision control processes. Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) to include all components of the mechanical design. Design mechanical drive systems and perform initial sizing calculations to properly apply motors, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components. Create drawings with

weld symbols, ANSI machining symbols and other standardized signs to clearly demonstrate the customer needs. Collaborate and support welding, fabrication, machining and assembly teams with technical guidance and drawing clarification. Identify opportunities for design standardization, cost reduction and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with ANSI, ASME, OSHA, CMAA, and ISO standards Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Maintain good documentation practices as trained and in accordance with procedures Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly manner by 5S standards Perform any other related duties and assignments as required Skills Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field Min of 3+ years in machine structural and fatigue analysis, strength of materials calculations Proficiency in producing machine shop drawing with detailed tolerances 3+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, structural systems, or material handling preferred Proficiency in 3D software, SolidWorks or Inventor Working knowledge of GD&T Must be able to work and communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers/suppliers using appropriate documentation. Must be able to handle numerous projects while providing unexcelled levels Proven decision making abilities and demonstrated sound judgment.
