Job Description

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the technical backbone on commercial mechanical construction projects. Ideal for an engineer with 3-5 years of mechanical contractor experience who's ready to take real ownership of their work. What you'll do Manage the full submittal process — shop drawings, product submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings Process RFIs, change order requests, and change orders — ensure timely documentation and proper procedures are followed Coordinate buyout, procurement, and delivery of materials and equipment in line with schedule and budget targets Initiate and oversee billing; review and monitor labor costs, hours, and projections with superintendents Assist in developing the project CPM schedule; provide monthly cost forecasts and status reporting to PM and leadership Maintain daily project documentation — time cards, daily reports, AWOs, receiving docs, and permit compliance Enforce quality control procedures on-site and support safety compliance and incident documentation Drive project closeout efficiently and keep PM and operations leadership informed of closeout status What we're looking for Mechanical contractor background is required — this is not a design engineering or MEP consulting role.
