If you enjoy transforming engineering concepts into accurate 3D models and drawings, we want you to join our team as a Drafter. Job Summary The Drafter provides support to the engineering team by creating and modifying detailed 3D models and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks based on sketches, layouts, and engineering notes. This role plays a key part in translating engineering concepts into manufacturable designs while maintaining accuracy, organization, and adherence to drafting standards. This position collaborates closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with production requirements. Please note this is an onsite position. What You Will Be Doing Create and modify CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies based on engineering sketches, notes, or instructions. Produce detailed 2D drawings, exploded views, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation in accordance with company and industry standards. Translate 2D drawings into 3D models and maintain accurate CAD data. Create assembly instructions and user documentation for internal and customer use. Maintain and archive CAD files according to departmental procedures. Ensure drafted components and assemblies meet design requirements and engineering standards. Work closely with Engineering to support prototype development and design refinement. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. Assist with prototype iterations by modifying designs based on engineering and testing feedback. Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements and meet project objectives. Manage multiple assignments concurrently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring to the Table Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience drafting complex mechanical components and assemblies. Intermediate-level proficiency in SolidWorks. Working knowledge of
ASME Y14.5-2018
drafting standards and GD&T principles. Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering concepts. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Additional Experience (Preferred) Exposure to prototype machining environments. Experience with manual lathe and milling machine operations. Familiarity with 5-axis CNC programming concepts. Experience with CAM software such as Autodesk Fusion. Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams during prototype development and testing.
